Victoria Beckham should win an award for biggest turnaround. This fashion tycoon, wife to one of the best looking men to ever live, and mother used to be a Spice Girl who made a living wearing mini dresses and selling girl power music, or have has she made us forget that critical part of her past? While many celebrities have reached stardom in a less than glamorous way, think reality tv stars or pop music artists, most fail to transition their image to one with staying power once they become famous. Why is this? Well it's easy to transition from someone with class to trash, but infinitely harder to reverse the process. Victoria Beckham and Justin Timberlake are the only two I can think off. Can you think of any other great celebrity turnarounds?
Are you a fan of Victoria Beckham? While she seems to be a little cold personally, I can't deny my attraction to her style and clothing designs. She does classic with a slight edge like no one else, but what can you expect from someone first famous under the name Posh...

ReplyDeleteBut I'm not sure if I agree that Justin Timberlake was ever particularly trashy... The ridiculous clothes he and the rest of the guys from N'Sync wore were mostly a reflection of the 90s.
And the Spice Girls, however distasteful their style was, were style icons of the time too. They practically invented the platform shoe - a style that is back in style and going strong today. Not really my cup of tea, or particularly "classy", but still iconic.

Gosh maybe I'm crazy, or perhaps always a fan of Posh Spice, but I feel like she has always been uber stylish. Looking back, her spice girl gear was a bit out there but she was cutting edge and ahead of trends.
