I was so happy when I stumbled upon these two pictures of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley demonstrating this combination. Her outfit has a certain carefree air about it that just screams spring. Also, I was just as happy to find her wearing the combination. She has become a style inspiration to me, I dare say, up there with Olivia Palermo. What do you think, do you love Rosie's style?

Get the look: Rosie Huntington Whiteley
One of my favorite color combinations for spring is mint, cream, and red (or coral). Not only does this combination seem unexpected and fresh, it also helps me utilize the excessive amount of red I have in my closet. Not typically a spring color, red can be made to adapt to this time of year by pairing it with light fabrics and a cool color palette.

Currently Craving
Too things that I have consistently been thinking about lately is how ready I am for spring to actually arrive and how excited I am to decorate our new spot in a few months. Since the rain has prevented any real arrival of spring and our living arrangements are not set in Seattle yet, I have to hold off on both... for now!

Had to Share
I came across this while on Refinery 29 while eating lunch today and had to share. They know us far too well! Which one are you or are you many? I happen to be the free canvas tote girl, the PS1 girl, and a hopefully one-day Celine Luggage Tote girl.
Translation
I'm a big believer in translation, meaning that if you like something, embrace it in all parts of your life. A trend is not restricted to clothing or interior design only. Right now, I'm loving pastels in fashion and the little girl in me has always loved pastel school supplies, so I'm trying to figure out why I'm lacking pastels in the interior design of my home. As per usual, I think the best way to achieve this is through pops of color so some new pillows, fresh flowers, and maybe a piece or two of new art may be in order. A post on what pieces exactly to follow soon.
Don't these pictures just make you happy?

Weekend Recap
Now for a weekend of the actual weekend. After a friend's birthday party Friday night, we slept in on Saturday and decided to walk to the local farmer's market and pickup some veggies and food cart food. After walking there (a 1.5 mile walk...) we found out that no dogs are allowed. So instead, we indulged in some gorgonzola fries at a local eatery where Frank was allowed. Frankie met another corgi on the way home and we managed to snap a few pics of them playing. Of course, a stop by Ben & Jerry's on the way home was also in order.
Sunday was also low key and started with P90X yoga in our living room. After finishing approx. 45 minutes of the 90 minute workout (so much plank!) we decided to quit and run errands. We meet my parents for sushi later and they surprised us with tickets to the Blazers vs. Golden State Warriors game! We had a blast and the bf caught a ten dollar restaurant gift card. It was his hero moment in my eyes.
So I hope everyone's week is starting off on the right foot. I just had to share the good news and my fun weekend. Regular programing will resume tomorrow!

Ombred Out
While in San Francisco last week, I stopped in Zara for the first time and quickly fell in love with everything in the store. After some really tough decisions in the dressing room, I walked out with the coat, shirt, and heels in this post, all of which have been in heavy rotation since.

Nesting Needs
No, calm down, I'm not pregnantly nesting... I'm just in need of some home time. Does anyone else ever feel like this after a vacation? The need to clean, organize, and spruce your home? This weekend will be dedicated to just that - relaxing and being comfortably at home. Below are a few things I'm planning to feel at home this weekend to ring in the new season (despite the Portland weather being undoubtedly a season behind). Do you have any plans to update your home for the coming season?

She's Preppy and She Knows It
White jeans have been a trend for the last few years but I never bought into the trend so to speak and invested in a pair. After discovering this picture on Pinterest a few days ago, my mind has officially been made up - a pair of white jeans is on my wish list. The woman in the picture has styled them just as I would, with classic pieces that I already have in my closet... well all but that Brooks Brothers belt but that just might be on the wish list now too.

A First
I'd never been to San Francisco before this trip. Shocking, I know, especially considering how short the plane ride down from Portland is. While I wasn't able to spend as much time as I'd have liked to in the city, I was there long enough to fall in love with it.
We flew into SF late Tuesday night and made our way early the next morning to Napa. However, we were there long enough to grab a coffee and make a few purchases from Zara (another first! Now easily my favorite store). I'll have to post a few pictures of my goodies this week. On Sunday, we drove back to the city early in the afternoon and had an evening flight out, so yet again, only a few hours to enjoy the city. Since the weather was incredible on Sunday, we decided to drive down to the Wharf and explore Ghirardelli Square.
Besides Zara, can you guess what the highlight of my time in San Francisco was? I'll give you a clue... I have the most tolerant, compromising boyfriend ever :)

Starting With The End
As many of you know who live in Central California, last week's weather left a lot to be desired. Roads were flooding, winds were blowing, and humidity was high. However, by Saturday (thank goodness), the rains stopped and we were thankful, regardless of the remaining cloud cover. Saturday was our last full day in Napa and we were blessed to be escorted around the Valley by Drew's "second mother" from childhood and her husband who live in the valley and work in the hotel industry. Let me tell you folks, it pays to know people (it also pays to return the favor so try and be as equally hospitable to others). That day we didn't have to pay any tasting fees, were given vintage tastings, and escorted to a lot of behinds the scenes wine cellars. It was truly a fantastic day. I thought I'd share this day first, partly because I think my outfit was cute, but mostly because it was the most magical. Please take note of the corgi we found at one of the wineries and the green chardonnay in our glasses in a few of the pictures - yes, wineries celebrate St. Patty's too! Highlight of the day? Pulling over on the side of the highway and all simultaneously opening the doors and spitting mouthwash out of the side of the car - no judgement from anyone in the Valley, it's no small ordeal to keep your teeth from staining from all the deeply colored wines!

Blogsitter #5: Sam
Hi there, One Stylish Day at a Time readers! This is Sam from The Peak of Tres Chic. I am so excited to be here posting on Miranda's blog. Her blog was one of the first ones I found when I began blogging, and it has been a source of inspiration ever since! Today my post is focused on my latest color crush- Blush!
The delicious color of Miu Miu boxes, the perfect shade of lipstick, and the natural flush in one's cheeks when flirting with your sweetie- how could one not love blush?!
I love that blush is soft enough to be paired nicely with most colors. I especially love the color combo blush+gold+white. It's luxe in a very understated way. So, are you like me? Do you have a crush on blush? I hope I have inspired you with this color! Thanks for hosting me today, Miranda, and please stop by The Peak of Tres Chic soon!
