Here's a quick summary:
Wednesday: Flew up for a last minute interview in Seattle. Got the job.
Thursday: Tell my current employer I'm leaving. Expect to get fired. Instead, they decide to tell me that I can't leave for the next three weeks.
Today: Decide to quit current job in an effort to enjoy my last week in Portland.
And the near future isn't getting any less chaotic...
Tomorrow: Move everything from Portland to Seattle. Try to balance unpacking with spending time with the bf who has been in Seattle for the last week.
Sunday: Drive back to Portland and celebrate Father's Day.
Next Week: Say my goodbyes to my hometown.
Saturday: Drive up to Seattle for good.
Following Monday: Start new job.
While a lot of exciting things have happened, all of this drama moving on from my latest job has been so exhausting and overshadowed the good. I'm not one for confrontation so going back and forth with them probably gave me an ulcer. I had never had to really leave a professional job before and was shocked by the bravery it requires, especially leaving a small firm of less than 10 people. It gets so personal.
Overall, I'm just ready to call it a day and get on with all the new! Hope everyone has a great weekend! I promise to get back to my regular blogging schedule next week.

oh wow Miranda, hectic times! Good luck moving and with the new job ;)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new job! And wow, good for you for not letting them dictate the terms of your departure like that!
