I distinctly remember when I was 14 years old, deciding to transform my then fuchsia bedroom into a black and white Parisian oasis. After hours spent painting multiple coats of white paint and hanging more than one black and white photo, I ended up white a cold, almost hospital like room. Frustrated and unable to see what was lacking, it was only a few months before I redid my room again, this time painting it a light shade of bubble gum pink. I'm a girl's girl, what can I say?
Years later, thanks to Pinterest, I can now see what I was missing: gold. You see, black and white is very cold and needs some warmth of some type. While for some that might be sprinkles of yellow or taupe, for me, nothing enhances the timeless color combination like a little gold.
